1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TrueFound (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. TrueFound provides a pet microchip registration and lookup service designed to help reunite lost pets with their owners.

2. Account Registration

To register a pet microchip, you must create an account with accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

3. Registration Services and Fees

TrueFound offers lifetime and annual microchip registration plans. Fees are charged at the time of registration or renewal and are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable notice.

A lifetime registration is tied to the specific pet and microchip combination and remains valid for the life of the pet, provided the account is kept in good standing and contact information is current.

4. Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for keeping your contact information, microchip numbers, and pet details accurate and up to date. The ability to reunite you with your pet depends on the accuracy of this information. TrueFound is not responsible for failed reunifications due to outdated or inaccurate information.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Register microchips that do not belong to you or pets in your care
• Submit false or misleading information
• Use the lookup service to harass pet owners or violate their privacy
• Attempt to access accounts that do not belong to you
• Use automated means to access or scrape our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service

6. Finder Reports and Reunification

When someone looks up a microchip and reports finding a pet, TrueFound facilitates contact between the finder and the registered owner using privacy-preserving methods. TrueFound is a communication intermediary and is not responsible for the conduct of users or the outcome of any pet reunification.

7. Bulk Registration Accounts

Veterinary clinics, shelters, breeders, and rescue organizations may apply for bulk registration accounts. Bulk accounts are subject to approval, additional verification, and separate pricing terms. Bulk account holders agree to only register microchips for pets in their legal care or through legitimate transfer to a new owner.

8. No Veterinary Advice

TrueFound is a registry service, not a veterinary service. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For any questions about your pet's health, consult a licensed veterinarian.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrueFound and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to TrueFound in the twelve months prior to the claim.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or abuse the Service. Registrations associated with a terminated account may be deactivated and rendered unsearchable.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.
